Two days before Christmas I left for the Netherlands, my home country, to spend Christmas with my family for the first time in 12 years. As it is winter in the Northern Hemisphere, I was eager to also take many pictures, as it is rare I get to photograph snowy landscapes unless I travel.
I was not disappointed, with the nearby windmills and eerily quite landscapes just waiting to be captured. The snow was like a muffler to the sounds of waking traffic in the morning, and gave beautiful landscapes to photograph... though it was cold!
Then Paris was next to be captured. I spent many mornings waking up at three AM to take photo's of anything and everything. The Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dam. All of these famous touristy spots presented themselves well.
Then I spent a week in the snow with my family skiing, and did not get much of an opportunity for photography, but when we got back to Holland, I spent the rest of my relaxing week looking for opportunities to photograph.
Hope everyone had a good break.
