Lonelinessby Ralf-Regeer

Canon 5DMkII | Zeiss Distagon 21 mm F/2.8 lens | ISO 100 | 21mm | F/11 | 20sec | Lee 0.6 ND soft grad & Lee Big Stopper.
My first shoot with the new Zeiss 21mm lens. I was never happy with lack of edge sharpness of the Canon 17-40mm lens, hence I sold it and bought the 21mm Zeiss lens for Canon. First shoot and I am impressed!
It was drizzling when I left home and I almost turned over in bed when the alarm went off and I heard the rain. But made it out of bed and once at location the clouds cleared and a beautiful sunrise presented itself. Due to all the smoke from the fires from the last week the sun wasn't as bright as normal hence I could shoot straight at the sun.

I`m glad you chose to ignore the alarm call!! This is stunning photography, I am drawn to the minimalist almost abstract feel of it. the reflected rising sun in the water draws you into the frame to the tree then to the distant shoreline, and the rising sun above breaking through the trees leaves. the colours are superb and remind me of many pre dawn walks in the Lakes in england and the lighting there. Truely superb work, and I am in awe of the craftsmanship that went into capturing it. I have just invested in a 5D as well, one day I hope to use it to such a high standard. Simon
